The village is set in great walking country on the path of the stunning 35-mile Gritstone Trail as it weaves through fantastic views through Tegg's Nose Country Park near Macclesfield and on to the Staffordshire border.
The local landmark, White Nancy, offers commanding views over the Cheshire plain towards the Welsh mountains. Or take a stroll along Macclesfield Canal and cross the 19th century aqueduct that links both sides of the Bollington valley.
Golfers will find attractive and challenging courses within easy reach while cyclists can pedal along the Middlewood Way, to the surrounding hills or take the Cheshire Cycle Way which passes right by the Church House Inn.
